Jenelle Evans, a Teen Mom alum, is requesting privacy following her 16-year-old son Jace Evans' placement in a mental health facility. On March 28, Evans, 34, posted a video on TikTok addressing public criticism and speculation about her parenting during the crisis, stating that she is working behind the scenes to support her son.

## The Incident and Response

Jace Evans was placed in a mental health facility weeks after an alleged incident involving his grandmother Barbara Evans in February. Seven Brunswick County police officers responded to the incident at Barbara's home in North Carolina, which authorities described as a "troubled teen disturbance." According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Barbara called 911 after Jace allegedly pulled a gun on her during the February 22 incident.

In her video statement, Evans addressed those claiming she was doing nothing, saying: "Behind the scenes, I'm doing everything I can for my child, and I'm doing what's in the best interest for him, and that's none of your business to know." She asked for observers and extended family to give her space: "With all due respect, including my family, please just back off a little bit. Let us breathe."

## Family Details and Treatment Search

Evans shares Jace with ex Andrew Lewis. She is also mother to Kaiser Griffith, 11, with ex Nathan Griffith, and Ensley Eason, 9, with ex David Eason. A representative for Evans confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the family was still searching for the best facility "to meet his needs." On March 28, Evans shared photos of Jace on her Instagram Stories showing him on an airplane looking out the window and using a tablet, without discussing the specifics of his treatment.
